I'm Iona – your friendly workshop host. I love sharing the joy of creativity and helping people tell their stories through art.

I studied illustration and theatre design, completing a Bachelor of Design and further training at WAAPA in Design for Live Performance. I built a professional career in the theatre industry – designing sets, costumes and puppets.

Over the past 14 years, I've had the privilege of leading many community art projects, in and around Perth and in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia. The projects ranged from large scale mural painting to Sculpture Building and creative workshops in educational settings. Through this work, I've developed a practical, down-to-earth approach to teaching art processes. 

As an artist, my heart belongs to painting! Whether it's acrylics, oils, watercolours, or inks, I find endless inspiration in Western Australia's stunning landscapes.
